Grandma's Melodies
Call of the Ancient
A giant, scary creature stands right in front of you, blocking your way under the starry night sky. He looks dangerous and taller than the trees, so big that he almost blots out the stars. Can you believe it, he wants to eat the moon! Your heart races in your chest but you feel a warmth in your hand. It's the jam jar that your grandma gave you, the one filled with her magical jam.
You remember your grandma's words, 'Against evil, use what you know best.' You also know the old songs taught by grandma don't just sound pretty - they are full of magic too! So, raising your voice against the wind and the whipping leaves, you call out a brave and magical song. Each note of your voice seems to make the monster flinch, his eyes narrowing, watching you warily.
Grandma's homemade jam glows in your hand, its sweet, fruity smell filling the air. The monster sniffs once, twice. His dark eyes dart to the potential incoming attack. Will you use the jam or keep singing against this moon-eating monster?
