Leaving the Hospital
You decide to stop the music. The magical, healing tunes disappear from the air, leaving the confused nurse behind. As you carefully tuck your violin back into its soft, safe case, your heart starts to beat fast. Each thump is loud in your ears. Your hands are shaky and the hospital seems too noisy. The taste of fear is in your mouth. But you've made up your mind. You turn around and start to walk away. You don't look back.
Stepping out from the big, bright building, you feel the cool air hit your face. The cold breeze is nice, helping to clear your head. You miss the silence of the forest and the chirpy little birds already. You've spent too many days here in the city where everything is so fast and loud. You've been a traveling musician, finding peace and calm in making music with your magical violin. Suddenly, though, you are tired of being around so many people, of all the confusion your magic causes. You long for trees and peace, not shiny hallways and confused nurses.
You leave the city and its noise far behind after a long journey. You reach a big, peaceful forest. You choose to live in solitude, among tall, whispering trees. The chirping birds become your friends, the rustling leaves your music. As days turn into weeks, you fish for food, grow your vegetables, and live a simple life without your violin magic. You don't touch the protective case or the magical instrument inside it anymore. You still remember its special tunes and the miracles they made happen but you've chosen a quiet life instead. You decide you will live here in the serene quietness, with only the trees and birds for company.
