Melodies of Restoration

Melodic Control

Under the cosy roof of the gazebo, away from the unexpected rain, you take out the magic violin from its case. This is your opportunity to experiment with tunes, as you had decided to do. You decide to create a new song. A song to stop the rain and bring back the sunshine. Holding your chin high, you place the violin under it and draw the bow across the strings. You play a slow tune, quite like the pitter-patter of raindrops; the music made the stranded people under canopies tap their shoes or sway their heads. But then, you gradually attempt to change the rhythm, making it a cheerful composition, like bees buzzing under a bright sun.

As you play these sunny notes, you can feel the music home in right on the grey clouds that talk with rumbling thunder. This time you feel the music rushing back from the sky, taking the cold grey clouds with it. Slowly the showers grow less, patchy rays of sunlight begin to tease the droplets off leaves and puddles. People start popping out of their shelters, their joy reflected through their dancing, blinking in the sudden light, laughter resurrecting the dampened spirits of the festival. The success of your experiment validating your choice makes you smile. Your violin didn't just heal, it controlled magic!

You continue giving rain checks or curing fights, but things don't always go so smoothly. Like the time you accidentally summoned butterflies indoors, or when your playing sent everyone into a dancing frenzy in a library! You chuckle at those. But with each ripple you erred and threw, your experiment ventured deeper, making you understand your violin better. You found more about your instrument; you learned that not only could you mend hearts, but also bring a ray of hope, joy, faith...and yes, a bunch full of sunshine when required. Perhaps you're not just a magical violin player after all, but a musical sorcerer, spreading your mystical melodies far
