Rebellion's Written Souls
Failed Espionage
With brave hearts, you and the rogue decide to find out more about this hidden door. You move through the people in town, asking them secret questions. The rogue whispers the right words, helping you get the answers. Soon, you learn much about the secret door but uh-oh, someone sees you! Important looking people dressed in hot red clothes call you out. Are those fire wizards, who guard the bad ruler?
Before you know it, you're in a big, noisy place. It's the jail the mean ruler puts people in! You didn't mean for this to happen. It wasn't in your plans. It's hard to see, but you notice the worried expressions that crowd the faces of your cellmates. You feel that feeling in your heart. That sinking one when you know you did something wrong. You're here in this dark, clanky place because of a big mistake. Now, they know the secret, too. The rulers know about the hidden entrance, about the rebellion. And they are very, very angry.
At first, you start to feel sad, very very sad. And scared, too. But then, you remember the friendship handshake you made with the rogue in the magic book. That handshake was a promise. A promise to help the rebellion, and to do what's right. Even if it means facing hard things, like sitting in this rattly old place with the guards watching. Even if it means making a mistake. It doesn't matter if your adventure plans have taken a twist. Being a real hero means facing the truth, even when the truth is that maybe things aren't going as well as you first thought!
