Rebellion's Written Souls

The Oppressive Ruler

You turn the page of the magic book to a new part, where it talks about the ruler who's in charge. You read of a lady, but not any ordinary lady! This one, she's in charge of everyone. She's not very nice though, in fact, she frightens people. She's in power because she has a huge army, like hundreds and hundreds of soldiers who never ever give up. It's her way to control everyone and everything on her land.

You feel a scoop of ice-cold fear in your tummy as the book starts to change the words on the page. It's like the book knows what you're thinking or feeling, cause it paints a really scary picture of all those soldier helmets gleaming sharp under the sun. But, as much as you want to close the book, with a thrumming heart, you realize you need to keep reading. Because you need to figure out a way to help your new imaginary friends: the rebel rogue, the wise mage, and the brave knight who are in the book and layered right in the pages just below your fingertips.
