The Dragon's Escape

Botched Distraction

You know what you need to do. With determination, you pick up a small stone and sneak to a spot where you can throw it far away from the dragon's cage. You want to lead the guards on a wild goose chase. So, you take aim and throw the stone as far as your little arm can hurl it.

As the stone hits the ground with a loud clatter, the guards' heads whip around. They seemed confused at first, but then look more watchful. Your heart sinks a little when you see them calling more guards over their radios. 'Oh no,' you think. 'This is not how it was supposed to go.'

In no time, the space around the dragon's cage is filled with more uniforms than before. You gulp and crouch behind a bush watching this unexpected turn of events. The dragon, now with more guards around him, looks even sadder. You stand still as you see guards scanning the area. 'Oops,' you think when one of them spots you. He comes over and scolds you politely for making noise and escorts you out of the zoo. They tell you to come back another time.

You leave the zoo, feeling so sad. The dragon was still in the cage and you couldn't help him today. But as you walk home, you start to feel better. You know you tried your best. And you're not giving up. Tomorrow is a new day. You will think of a new plan to help the dragon escape from the boring zoo.

The End
