The Dragon's Escape
Spell of Confusion
After your decision to create a distraction, you gaze around the room. Not far off, you find a pile of leaves and a paper bag. It hits you! The perfect plan. You could fill the bag with those leaves and create a huge BANG! Surely, such a loud noise would cause chaos, and in all that confusion, you could free the dragon.
You start to work. Rustling leaves fill the room's air with noise as you stuff the bag. Then, with all your might, you give the bag a hard smack. BANG! The sound echoes through the room, even loud enough to startle you. However, the bang seems to have worked too well. The dragon jolts, her eyes flashing wide and a rapid flicker of flame shoots from her nostrils! You gulp hard. Has your clever noise just scared the dragon you're trying to save? You didn't plan for that.
Her scaly face tightens, disappointment shimmering in her dampened, once vibrant eyes. You wish she could understand your intention. But now, racing footsteps echo into the room, getting closer. It's the zookeepers! 'Woah, woah, woah! What's going on here?' they shout, looking around at the disturbance. They surround you, shocked and worried about the chaos. You're swept from the room, their stern voices echoing, 'This is not a playground! You are not allowed in the zoo anymore.' Your heart feels heavy, did your plan to save the dragon just end? Or... do you still have a chance?
